The Greater Kansas City Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi has a long history and is open to all members of Alpha Omicron Pi International Fraternity. Our members come from a wide geographical area, from Lawrence to Olathe to North Kansas City to Lee’s Summit to Topeka and were initiated at chapters all across the United States. The Leadership board is comprised of women of all ages and backgrounds who want to give back in some way to Alpha Omicron Pi and the sisterhood it fosters. In fact, our KCAOII leadership board is made up of sisters from seven different collegiate chapters!
The board is currently looking for a new Collegiate-Alumnae Relations Liaison chair. The foremost objective of this role is to maintain relationships with the collegiate chapters close to KC; that’s Delta Pi at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg and Delta Gamma at Missouri State University in Springfield. This mostly happens through frequent email touchbases with chapter advisors and alumni relations chairs and includes letting the chapters know when KCAOII activities are happening. The role also includes reporting back to KCAOII any chapter activities that the alumnae chapter should participate in or support.
Other components of the role are:
- Writing Member Information Forms or references for incoming collegiate ladies going through recruitment. Requests come in for two months at the end of spring and conclude by mid-summer.
- Participating in the selection of scholarship winners for KCAOII’s annual scholarships.
- Assessing applicants for Outstanding Collegiates who are recognized each year at Founders’ Day.
If you’re interested in helping out the KCAOII chapter in the Collegiate-Alumnae Relations Liaison role, please reach out to Kate at hello@kcaoii.com with any questions or to apply.
