New KCAOII board members
Cara Mahon, Lauren Clark & Shannon Kilkenny

In early December, KCAOII installed two new women into important roles on the KCAOII leadership board and transitioned another sister to a different leadership role.

Cara Mahon, past VP Fundraising, a role she’s held for two years, is now KCAOII’s VP Programs and will take over responsibility for planning social events for the chapter including Founders’ Day and the upcoming KCAOII 100th Year Anniversary Celebration. Cara fills a role most recently held by Katie Raymon. We thank Katie for all her efforts.

Filling Cara’s vacated VP Fundraising, newly named VP Philanthropy to align with AOII ideals, is Lauren Clark. Lauren recently moved to the Kansas City area and will be responsible for KCAOII’s relationship with the Arthritis Foundation locally and nationally and KCAOII’s annual plant & flower sale.

Shannon Kilkenny is originating the newly-created board position of Scholarships Chair. In her role, Shannon will coordinate the multiple KCAOII scholarships available, preparing application information, reviewing submissions, and facilitating the awarding of those scholarships. It’s a lofty job as KCAOII is lucky to be involved with so many scholarships. Most recently these responsibilities were taken on by our treasurer Debbi Johanning. Debbi will continue to be integral in the awarding of these scholarships but with help from Shannon we hope to continue to grow awareness and collegiate sister support.
