Sunday, Sept. 27: Strike Out Arthritis with the Royals at the K!
11 a.m. Tailgating; 1:10 p.m. Game time at Kauffman Stadium
Alpha Omicron Pi International is looking forward to our first-ever Strike Out Arthritis! event with the Kansas City Royals. That afternoon, our hometown heroes will take on the Cleveland Indians! The Royals will donate a portion of each ticket sold by AOII to our Strike Out Arthritis! campaign, the initiative that helps us fund both critical research to find a cure for arthritis and programs that improve quality of life for people with arthritis. AOII Strike Out Arthritis! events are a great opportunity for sisters to come together with the community in support of the philanthropic mission we hold close to our hearts. Help families staying at the Ronald McDonald House relax and enjoy a quick, tasty treat! We’ll make snacks for 20-30 people in the house kitchen. Kids are welcome to help out.

Help us celebrate and reflect upon the incredible achievements of Alpha Omicron Pi and its founders at our Founders’ Day celebration. We’ll join for a ceremony to recognize the significance of that day, Jan 2, 1927, when AOII was formally organized at the home of Helen St. Clair. We’ll honor our four founders and enjoy time with one another, reliving our collegiate days, sharing stories and learning more about sisters throughout K.C.

Sunday, Dec. 13: Jingle Bell Run
9 a.m. at Meritex Lenexa Executive Park (17501 W. 98th St., Lenexa, KS 66219)
Be part of the largest holiday 5K race series aimed to fight arthritis! Few runs in the country are quite like this one, as the Jingle Bell Run in Kansas City takes place entirely UNDERGROUND! The course is flat, festive and fun and, best of all, it never ventures outside into the brutal winter climate. The Jingle Bell Run is the perfect family event, with appearances from child-friendly guests like Santa Claus, Kansas City Royals mascot Sluggerrr, jugglers, magicians, a live DJ and more! And don’t forget about the Holiday Hallway, a darkened stretch of the run that’s aglow with thousands of lights and decorations. AOII will have a team, so join and run, walk, saunter or just help us raise money for a great cause.

Kansas City’s National Museum of Toys & Miniatures just went through a renovation and is back open for business. We’ll visit the museum, then go to lunch and chat about our favorite parts. Join us for both the museum tour and lunch afterward. (Kids are welcome!)

Join us as we travel to the West a bit and visit the hometown of some fellow Greater Kansas City AOIIs. We’ll carpool from Kansas City (we’ll determine our meeting location soon) and leave around 9 a.m. to make it to Lawrence just in time for brunch. Dining location to be determined, but a stop at the famous Sandbar (“Home of the Indoor Hurricane” and owned by one of our own AOII sister’s hubby!) may cap off our visit.
