Autumn is here! And that means we’ve got events planned for the 2014-15 year! We’ll be adding new activities as the months progress, but we already have the full schedule of the Day Group Meetings, plus a handful of fun fall events. Mark your calendar with the info here and plan now to give yourself some girl time. You deserve it!
• Day Group Meeting. Oct. 13 (Monday), Noon-2 p.m., Kingswood, 10000 Wornall, Kansas City, Mo. A full lunch will be served. $10 (cash or check; no tax or tip is included).
• K.C. Rakes Volunteer Philanthropy Event for the Shepherd Center. Nov. 8 & 9 (locations between State Line and 71 Highway). KC Rakes is an event in which volunteers provide a free yard-raking service for adults, over the age of 65, who own their home, cannot afford to pay for yard services, don’t have family who can assist them and who can no longer do yard work on their own. Bring your own lawn equipment (rakes, trimmers, blowers, gloves) and spend a few hours in the fresh autumn air helping someone in need. You’ll feel good too!
• Day Group Meeting. Nov. 10 (Monday), Noon-2 p.m., Park Meadows, 5901 W. 107th St., Overland Park, Kan. A full lunch will be served. $10 (cash or check; no tax or tip is included).
• Dinner and Philanthropy for Ronald McDonald House. Nov. 16 (Tuesday), 6-8 p.m. Join your sisters for a combination dinner and philanthropy event! We will be putting together snack bags for our local Ronald McDonald House. Event details to come. But mark your calendar now for an evening in which you’ll help others and yourself.
• Founders’ Day. Dec. 6 (Saturday), 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Details to come. Save the date! <<NOTE: This date has been updated from the incorrect date originally listed!>>
• 2014 Jingle Bell Run/Walk. Dec. 14 (Sunday), Meritex Lenexa Executive Park, 17501 W. 98th St., Lenexa, Kan. 8 a.m. registration/awards, 9 a.m. run/walk begins. This year AOII is a national sponsor of the Jingle Bell Run/Walk events. Please join AOII and your local alumnae sisters by participating in this year’s Jingle Bell Run/Walk event team! This December’s run/walk is held entirely underground and is a fun, festive event for the whole family! Put on your reindeer antlers and your running shoes and come join us for some holiday cheer!
