Thursday, Nov 14: Food sorting at Harvesters (3801 Topping Ave., Kansas City, Mo.), 6-8 p.m.
Get your feel-good on! We’ll be joining with the Serve K.C. organization to sort food for the Harvesters food bank. This is a great way to give back to the community as Harvesters is the area’s only food bank. Its network includes more than 620 nonprofit agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, children’s homes, etc. We will be working in a warehouse, so please dress casually. Note: no open-toed shoes (such as flip flops or sandals) are allowed. And bring yourself some water to stay hydrated. Check in at the front desk when you arrive for instructions. Children ages 6 and older are welcome to attend with you. Please share this opportunity with other AOII sisters, family, friends and coworkers! (Make sure you RSVP with the number of volunteers coming with you.)
Harvesters will always accept any food donations too so bring them with you when you come.

Saturday, Dec. 7, Founders’ Day. Details to be announced.
Mark your calendar now to be sure to set aside some special time to remember just why we all became AOIIs in the first place! We’ll gather and enjoy a potluck celebration of the four women who made our sisterhood possible. We’ll share some songs, memories and fellowship. (And enjoy some delicious homemade goodies, to boot!) This is one of our special gatherings at which both our daytime-group and evening-group ladies all join as one, along with gaining the benefit of meeting with our collegiate sisters from the University of Central Missouri. It’s a great opportunity for AOIIs of every age to be together. It’s an event to which we all look forward throughout the year.Founders’ Day is a touching and traditional way to kick off the holidays and help get us into a spirit of generosity and love.
We’ll announce all the details soon. (Typically we meet from about 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) So watch for additional info to come soon!

(17501 W 98th St # 2762, Lenexa, KS 66219), where the average temperature is a balmy 68 degrees! Special guests include jugglers, magicians and Santa Claus, of course, who will be jingling along in a pair of running shorts!
