Last spring some of our members participated in a Habitat for Humanity day. We received an e-mail from Habitat with the following message:
You are receiving this e-mail because you were the contact person for a student volunteer group that has come out to work with Habitat for Humanity Kansas City this year.
It is our hope that you will therefore be willing to do something much simpler than building a house but which could have a far greater impact on the community and neighborhoods that our affiliate serves.
It is called the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative and our affiliate is one of a few dozen pilot affiliates taking part in the launching of this Habitat for Humanity International program.
How can you help us? By forwarding this e-mail to everyone you know and asking them all to vote for us at least once per day from all their e-mail addresses at http://www.ahschallenge.com/.
You can vote more than once per day as long as it is from different e-mails and the voting will go on until January 30th.
If we can finish in the top three vote getters we will receive at least $10,000 to help us launch NRI in Kansas City.
