Years ago, the Kansas City Alumnae Chapter and other interested friends endowed two scholarships at the University of Kansas: the Jessie Marie Cramer Scholarship, in memory of Phi initiate and former International President Jessie Marie Cramer, and the Alpha Omicron Pi Scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Female students at the University of Kansas who will be upcoming juniors, seniors, or graduate students
- Must demonstrate financial need according to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Preference given to members of Alpha Omicron Pi
- Preference given to residents of the Greater Kansas City area
Sorority membership is NOT required; in fact, most of the applications each year are from women who are not sorority members.
The application is available online. (A PDF will open.)
The application deadline is April 1. It's important to note that a General Needs Analysis form is also required to be completed by the KU Office of Student Financial Aid. This form should be submitted as soon as possible to the OSFA so they have time to complete it and forward it to our scholarship committee.
If you have friends or relatives attending KU who might qualify for this scholarship, please forward this information to them. Questions can be directed to Debbi Johanning, Scholarship Committee Chairperson, at johanning{at}sunflower{dot}com.
