Last Saturday some of the Kansas City alumnae members, along with some husbands, met at the local Boulevard Brewery for a tour.

Boulevard Brewery was established in 1989 in Kansas City. The brewery offers tours every Friday at 3 p.m., and on Saturdays at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. The tours fill up fast! The tours include a walking tour of the plant, a short video about how beer is made, the history of the brewery, and of course, samples.

The brewery just completed a $22 million dollar renovation, and the tour guide said that people from lots of other breweries have come in to check out their fancy new equipment. Beer making looks very complicated; there are lots of stainless steel tubes running everywhere.

Boulevard was a great place for a sisterhood activity. We learned about a regional business that is local to Kansas City and had the opportunity to visit with each other outside of a normal meeting.
